Hello folks and happy New Year!
Time for a new battery for my 03 RX-1, original battery lasted 7 years, replacement battery just quit, it will not take a charge. What have you been finding to be the best replacement? Time to give a newer battery technology a try. I am not concerned about reducing weight, just want the maximum amount of cranking amps for those frigid mornings.
Thanks!
Jim

Just installed a new Yuasa YTX20HL-BS last night in my Vector. Rated for 310 CCA. It's minus 20 celcius here today, but sled was in the garage overnight, so haven't had a chance to test it yet. Previously had a dry cell Oddysey 680 battery, but didn't seem to crank over fast enough when below minus 20. Will compare the two once my sled sits outside overnight.

Thanks, let us know once you have made the comparison.

I just replaced an Exide glass matt/gel battery with another one just like it, $75 @ Rural King. The old battery lasted 7 years.

Was -24 celcius yesterday or -12 F, sled turned over pretty well. Somewhat better than Odyssey battery. The Yuasa battery seems to have a better reserve capacity. My Vector seems to be harder to turn over than my Warrior was when cold.

Thanks for the replies. I might stay with an OEM Yusa battery as a replacement since I don't want to take any chances. The OEM battery lasted much ,onger than the non-OEM battery I bought from NAPA. Thanks!

thats because you did not buy a gel or glass matt battery from napa. You basically bought a lawn mower battery.
