My 07 Attak has 8000+ miles. The dam thing just seems to run so good, that I'm kinda embaressed to say I have never even taken the clutches apart yet.
However, I am getting a bit worried that it may fail, so I think the time has come to make a change.
Any suggestions? I have only ever changed components on Polaris clutches, so I'm a rookie to Yamaha clutching.
Seems like Ulmer Stage II is the prefered set up, but is it woth the $$.
Springs are a given, weights and bushing wear would be obvious, but is there anything else that would need to be changed?
Any help appreciated.....

there is a bushing in the cover as well as one in the sliding sheave. clutch will have to be taken apart to change the sheave bushing. dealers have the tool to break it down. clutch is very similar to polaris but all metric. if you like the clutching, replace the springs/bushings and ride. stock clutching works well for most people most of the time. invest in some clutch alignment tools from srxspec/ ulmer, a site sponser. they will give you the max performance in getting the power to the ground.
