Replacing wheels with 2010's

I thought the same thing. I put the fourth wheel kit in my sled last year and used an outside style wheel and I put the spacer in the truck of the sled. I know that you don't see it, but if something would happen to either outside wheel on a trip I can move the wheel to the outside and put the spacer back in and run it as a stock set up. Only downfall was the extra cost of the wheel.

tttario - For the rear axle wheels you need 3 to replace the stockers - right? The two outside can be spoked but the one in the middle wouldn't necessarily have to be spoked. You show that you bought 2 for the rear axle so did you just not replace the inside one or what? Perhaps I am reading this wrong but I am a little confused here. I am looking to do the exact same thing as you to my '07 after I get the beef up kit done. Thanks.

The inside rear wheel was the only one in my entire skid that the bearing was still mint in. It is also the only wheel in the entire skid that has a removeable/replaceable bearing so I left it in. The 4th wheel kit comes with an identical wheel to the inside rear (solid wheel, not spoked). So now my 2 inner rear wheels are solid and the 2 outers are spoked. Hope this clears it up. BTW I also added the FIX front wheel kit and I really like them. I had really bad slider wear on the front curve of the rails and these will help greatly.

Cheers.

My question about all these wheels is, why did Yammy go to a single mount for a few years,05 to 09 and now the 10s are back to double hole mounts. I have heard about many rails breakin, is this the reason? I have never had a prob with rails till now,(07)gt but I think a bolt loosen on mine to make it break. The wheels that came on my 03 RX are still factory. 10K

I think thats something everyone wants to know that owns any sled from 05-09 lol!

I found an inside rear idler on mine practically seized and the sled only has 3400km's (2100 hundred miles)
Definitely going to replace it and all the others with the aftermarket ones with replacable bearings.

Just don't know what is the best and easiest way to go about this, especially living in Canada and trying to keep costs as low as possible?

I keep seeing on the forum that the inside rear guide wheel (I only have one) has replaceable bearing. I think 6004. Anyone know if its the same bearing on the outside of 2010+? Part 93306-00507-00. I want to order the inside rear guide wheel bearing from Yamaha but they only list the whole kit even for newer Apex?

Guys, On my 2010 Apex LTX GT I have replaced some wheels with left over's from other sleds( two lower middle iders) crack rubber on the wheels, couple bearings on outside good wheels. Noticed tunnel upper wheels lost a bearing seal. Removed wheel and wheel was good ( didn't have bearing that would fit so repacked and used a seal off an old bearing) hope it lasts?

Why in the world does yamaha use so many different wheels and different size bearings???????? searched for all the specs on them. figured I would save my findings for others.

Wheel Rear inside 8CR-47550-0 size 7.12" X 20mm X25mm ( QTY X1) Bearing 6004 RS
Wheel Rear outside 8HF-47550-20 size 7.12" X20mm X25mm (Qty X2 Bearing 6005 RS

Wheel SMA-8FP38-01-BK 5.18" X 130mm (QTY X6) Bearing B6005 RS

Wheel upper tunnel guide (Mid) 8CR-4731A-00 5.2" X 20mm (QTY X2) Bearing 6205 2RS ( I have replaced both sides now) Older Yamaha's used to be a 7.12mm wheel mounted on a shaft, now just on idler like slide rails and smaller?

Funny how most micro parts list all show these as unavaible? Crazy combinations! Summary is I am not sure the 2010's are any better but if you can get thr right wheel bearing combo you will be all set!

i ran into this too my question is someone said the shaft size is different on the 2010? i want to put these on my wifes 09 vector will these ones in the accessory guide fit on the rear shaft of the vector?

If your track adjusters are in front of the rear wheels you have the new style shaft ( bigger di. ) used in 2010 and later. The other wheels are the same only with replaceable bearings.

I replaced all the wheels on my "08" Vector with 2010's and never ran into any problems at all.
