If any of you have the '07 Technical Update Manual and are able to copy and scan the page describing the update on the chaincase cover, I'd sure appreciate that scan.
Again, this is with respect to the chaincase failures which are suspected to be caused by a faulty chaincase cover and or the cover's seal. It's supposedly referenced in that specific manual. If it is and anyone's able, please see what you can do.

Jon, I have the 06 manual....but if you search on here, there are pics I took of the old and new covers....CLEARLY showing the differences....should you need them.
Interesting that the 07 manual has a section for that!

here is a pic of where the LEDGE is smaller on 06 cover....near the bottom of cover,where the large gear rides,the ledge narrows down,and the gasket would not seat real well here....you can see in the one pic below how the black marks from gasket are not seated very well around bottom of ledge....
the 08 cover(update cover) has a larger ledge where im pointing here....i do not have a pic of the update cover,but it has a slightly larger ledge near bottom and helps gasket seat better there....no seapage.
I am 99.9% sure the gasket is UNCHANGED .
