I just finished bolting up the chaincase (installed new track) and the fwd/reverse lever will not move/engage between fwd and rev. Is this normal because the machine is not running, or did I not get the shift fork seated properly?

Sometimes the gears don't mesh. Try turning the track and see if it will work. If not, then I would suspect that something's wrong. When you installed it, you made sure to put the fork in the SLOT?

It sounds as though the shift fork is not seated properly, but double check by rolling the sled back and forth slightly to see if it will engage then. If it will not go into reverse you will need to loosen the chaincase cover and try it again.

having looked at SRXSPEC's pictures of your Nytro, I would suspect I installed the shift fork incorrectly. I believe I installed it coming up from the bottom of the gear instead of the top. (if that makes sense trying to describe it)

Just don't try driving it if its not right, you could cause very expensive damage.

I would say by your descrition that the fork is not seated properly. I know...because I had the same problem and had to take it apart and put it together again
