Reynolds Motor Sports gave me a smoking deal.

Do a search on the GT. Been looking on here for a day and all I see is shocks blowing, wires breaking and rust and cracks in the Monoshock. If you waited a month you could have snowchecked at a good price (maybe not great price) and got the 07 updates and a 3 year warranty D

thanks for the warm welcome to the yamaha family.

some of you have you have made me so upset to have this sweet ride in my garage i think i will return it and set myself on fire............................................NOT.

Interesting thread............

Pointless if you ask me. The best deal I have seen on a GT was in the low $8Ks. There is a good chance he could be affiliated with the dealer and just trying to get them some business.

Welcome to the Yamaha Family Stinkfinger. :yam:

Not sure what the problem is with some of the lads today, usually a friendly bunch, must be the snow shortage !!!!!!!!! or :drink:

Read somwhere you got a smokin deal on a new GT.

Rode the new GT i got for my wife first time last weekend in the Edmundston area. Trails are great in Northern N.B.

Totally awsome sled. It was break in time so did not beat it too hard.

Warmers were ok to about 20f with a mid shield. Put gauntlets on for the cold day, -5f and warmers were plenty hot. Ran them just above half. This will do until the fix is in.

Rear spring weak for my fat 220 lb azz but will be great for my wife.

Very smooth ride. Great handling. Light steering. Pushes a little. Minor tracking at lower speeds on hardpack is all. No darting, track is glued to the snow.

Started with sled set to factory specs, totally stock so far except 96 Megabytes and a mid shield. Checked everything myself. Dealer had it close but not right on.

Suggest you check for excess grease on secondary shaft. You may want to keep a set of idlers close by although mine are fine so far.

After reading all the negative comments on the site for the last 3 months, I was not sure what to expect. I was not disappointed. Sure was glad to have the info though so that I knew to change the windshield and carry the Gauntlets and the idlers in the tow vehicle.

Backed off compression on front shocks 2 clicks is it so far. Not so sure I will keep that. Yammie nailed the starting point for set up from what I can see.

Enjoy your new Riceburner.

BTW, I think I heard somewhere you got a Smokin good deal. Congrats.

Me I got screwed by Yammie Canada. Dealer treated me fine though.

Dave

thanks for the post RICEBURNER,
I will be heading to NB in march. This is the most excited i have been about a snowmobile in a long time.

Thanks again

I live within 5 miles of them and have giving them a chance to sell me a new sled on at least 3 occasions and they wouldnt deal in any way shape or form.I've bought a new viper a venture and now a attack and for 500.00 they let me walk.I dont call that willing to deal.I called about my replacement idle wheeles and they told me they needed my sled at their shop and it would be 7 to 10 days because yamaha wouldnt pay for shipping and they wouldnt either and they didnt even know at the time that I didnt buy my sled there. :moon: Im all set with them.I do all my buisness with woody's or jackman powersports or anyone that acts like they want to do buisness.I'm glad they dont treat everyone the same.....or am I?????? :ORC

Whats the big deal without giving the price out we could all use it as at least a baseline quit being so selfish.

Have the opportunity to buy a '06 RTX with 200 miles or order a '07.
The 06 can be had for pretty cheap, but I don't know what the warranty differences are. Does the '06 carry a 3 year?

I know about the skid differences but I think I can live with the monoshock especially as I plan on passing the machine onto my wife in a couple years. I know she would prefer it to the torsion spring in the '07.

The cracks and rust on the 06 monoshock, are they structural defect or cosmetic? This is the first I have heard of this...?[/quote]

I love the mono in my RTX. I do have rust coming through at several of the welds however. There doesn't apear to be any structural damage or cracking, just not the best paint work done by Yamaha on the welds.
