On a side note:
The Mono EC skid is also more durable than I expected.
I hit a nasty square-edge in flat-light that crashed the skid hard, then launched me about 4' upwards and darn near sideways, and it slammed pretty hard again and bounced me one more time. Somehow it managed to stay shiny-side-up thru all of that? One scarry ride though.
I took it to the dealer for an inspection and everything (rails, welds, pivots, arms, EC servo, wheels/bearings, etc...) checked-out. So if it can take a hit like that (hardest one I've ever experienced) it's alright in my book.

Here is my review of my first legitimate ride on the 07 Attak GT, I say legitimate because I probably have done 8000 laps around my yard before I actually got her out on the trail. The day was not without mishap as while loading the sled up I got it stuck in a snow bank and burried the rear end, then when taking it off the tilt trailer I cracked my head on the cover of the trailer. Forgot to duck as I backed it off. Too excited I guess to be thinking straigth at that time. For those of you who are on the fence about buying an attak read on and get ready to march into the dealer tomorrow and give them your deposit, because as more people find out what these 4 strokers have to offer I am afraid everyone is going to buy one...and there might not be any left. What I thought was snowmobiling on my old 03 legend 600 SE was actually a slow form of torture. We ride in Tug Hill on the weekends and the monstrous bumps have just become a part of riding. Many a time I have pounded my spine, back and kidneys up and down the hill from Booneville to Highmarket. Everytime I made the ride I would count the minutes, seconds until I was finally off that sled with a cold beer in my hand. My friends ride revs and never seemed to complain as much as me about the pain associated with the endless number of "bottoming outs". I always arrived at the Wig Wam 25 minutes after them as I just could not keep up. Well that ended last Saturday. I will never consider going back to a 2 joker....First the Attak GT (black) just looks awesome. Yamaha did a great job dressing this sled and I believe it is the nicest machine on the trail bar none. Second the power, oh the power will blow your mind. The hook up is unbelievable and this sled pulls scary. In fact you have to be careful in the bumps that you don't hit the throttle by accident as it will throw you. The engine breaking I have read about is actually very nice, as others have stated no real need for the break other than the occasional "oh Sh$t". My sled is stock other than the Pilot Skis and mirrors. The skis are great but if I had to do it all over I would have skipped the mirrors as they really don't do much, my arm blocks them which is nice at night but still have not been able to position them so I can see anything behind me. As for the weight I did not feel it except on the trailer and when I got her stuck in my yard. Rear end is not too bad but don't try to pick up the front by your self unless you make steroids a part of your regular diet. My buddy who drives an old poo classic and I put on about 40 miles the first day from Hamburg, NY down to Eden and back. The sled was awesome in every way. I was actually cheering inside my helmet I was so happy. Bring on those large bumps I look forward to them now, shutter bumps are just silly on this thing..hard to tell you are even on them. On the straigts hold on and be ready to reach the end quicker than ever before and I was gentle on her due to break in period. I am frightened to think what she will be like after 600 miles. The medium stock windshield is great and I actually got less wind than on my ski doo with their medium windshield. No smoke which I never thougth of before I bought it but now know that I will never go back to those old fashioned 2 smoker/ jokers. The instrument panel is the best I have ever seen , the clock is super nice if you need to be home for dinner like I did. Got home in time to sit down with family and was rewarded with a weekend at the camp this weekend to really do some riding. The speedometer is large and easy to read, the handwarmers on my 07 were perfect, easy to change and toasty...temps were around 16 degrees. The skid did pick up some ice and snow so yesterday I coated in WD 40 and will report after this weekend. The sled corners so nice, the pilot skis were incredible and just carved thru the tight turns, in fact I found myself not having to lean like I do on the old sled as this one turns by itself. Lastly let my "poo" buddy drive it the last 10 miles or so and he stated as I said in another thread " I am going to but a yamaha and put Polaris stickers on it". I rode his and could not wait to get back on mine. Picking up the tank bag tonight from local yammy dealer and I actually want to lead this weeked as I know I will be able to keep up, it will be my boyz that will have to be concerned abou keeping up with me. Do your self a favor, go buy the Attak, never look back and welcome yourself to how snowmobiling should be. I will be on the hill on Saturday, if you would like to hook up and take a "little" test ride I would be happy to let you....because this thread and website pushed me over the edge and I have learned more about sledding in the last few weeks than I did the first 4 years I did it. your happy yammy teammate couger.
