Posting some pictures to show the start of the project. I now have a total of 31 hours in wet sanding, arms are shot. This is an 06 Apex RTX, which was black with candy apple red. I will be painting nose cone and lower plastic bottoms white and the rest of the sled will be yami blue. I am going to leave the tunnel black at this time. I will have to see how it looks when everything else is done. Photos show what I am painting white and the unpainted items will be blue.

- None, looking now!
Very nice. One thing tho, if you are painting them exhaust tips white, they'll show the exhaust and may not look well at all stained black from the exhaust? Maybe add some turn downs to them?
Looks awesome tho. Nice job.

painting sled?
Here's some pics of my '06. Sounds like you are going about it the right way. I took a long time sanding my sled as well, but I left some of the rough sand scratches in the plastic when I started priming to give more to "bite" to. I used House of Kolor products, along with their epoxy primer, which has excelent build to fill any remaining sand scratches.
Pm me if you need any help!

ahh, the good old days, figuring out how to get all those parts in the paint room hooked to something. sometimes it takes longer than painting them.

Yeah, that part sucked. I did it it January, just before a huge snow. I did it in my garage at home because it's easier to heat than my shop. The late nights working on it was nice to be close to a place to crash when I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. I just got the last few pieces put back together when the guys showed up for the first ride of the year! I didn't even have 2 hours to spare...
So if taking a fresh paint job out into the cold is any test, it passed just fine.

I just left the paint shop, where Scott had his pieces painted. They look great!! I can hardly wait to see it all together.. How long did everyone let their pieces cure before puting the sled back together? His were baked at 150 F for 30 minutes.
Looking forward to seeing this thing put back together.

I just let my pieces set at room temp for about a day before I put too much of it together.
Let us see how they came out!
Did you wind up taking any of the texture off?
