I put a 2" riser with a pivot form Powermadd. Total rise was 3 1/2". I needed to get the cable for the throttle and reroute the brake cable and flex line. I think you could go with a 2" non pivot and be ok but I'm not 100% sure.
I am however glad I went with the pivot, with 3" foam added to seat its just right. If you need the cable contact Vision Motorsports In BC Canada.604-894-6840 they had one in stock and they were awsome

Most any rise will need the 05 Mountain cable. Some say 2 in works with stock cable, some say it bumps the tors at full stop. With the Apex seat, I doubt 2 in will be enough for you.

i made a pivot riser (old CR125 bar mounts i had...they're aluminum with steel bolt molded into it)...about 3 inches rise on stock 03 mountain cable. I did some testing with chunks of round tubing and longer bolts to see the max rise before i made the riser. Then i added a little more because of the pivot forward. No probs in a few 100 miles. Temp. fix till i get a longer cable and more rise.

With 2 inch rise you need to move your throttle block in and take it out of the u-clamp at the base of the handlebars. How did you guys reroute your brake lines? Did you put it under the coolant line? If me 05 mountain cable ever show's up I will be putting in the riser.

My brake line runs just behind the coolant filler neck, above the hose. Plenty of slack that way. I'm running a 6 in. art riser and Cat snopro bars. No problems all winter long. You might also have to reroute the choke cable and parking brake cable. Plenty of length if you're creative. Throttle is a must though.

I had only a 1" riser on my warrior and the throttle would jump on me in tight right turns, never happened at speed on the trail but it did happen a few times in parking lots. No matter how I routed the throttle cable it would do it.
You can also move your control forward a little bit. I have a ROX riser and my tors kicked in once and awhile. I bought the 05 mountain cable. Good luck.

Will the 05 throttle cable and an extend brake line allow me to run a pivot riser and a 4 or 6 inch riser? 6.25 or 8.25 total rise? this would be on a 03 rx-1 mountain.
Thanks!
Thanks!
You can put a 4" pivot riser on with the stock cables.Since you move the bars farther forward that give's you extra slack. The only thing you have to do is take the u clamp off on the steering post it's only a guide for the cable's.There is clearance when the bars are turned in either direction.I got a 4" pivot riser from Rich motorsports.

I put on 2" with just minor re-routing. I am 6'2" and 2" is not enough.

Just to clarify. That is a 4 inch riser, plus the pivot. My pivot adapter also adds an additional 1.25. Will it still fit?
