Ugh. My parents always want me to take their friends on these things. So i take a beginner... on the trail with ice on it, first mistake. Second mistake was showing them the brake handle. Came up on a turn, she hit the brakes and the sled turned sideways on the ice, track got grip and rolled. its 388 dollars for all the parts. with labor it will be about 600 dollars.

Here is a short clip of the damage. its a 368kb video, so its dialup friendly.

you can see the part behind the windshield and speedo is broken off, and cracked right next to the guages. The "V" on the windshield where it says genesis extreme 4 stroke is broken, the windshield as you see in the video is able to be flapped around, the handlebars are bent down, way down, and the Part of the exhaust that says YAMAHA is kinda pulled out of the tip a little bit

i took it in today. They are missing one part. everything but the windshield got done today.

The video is of it in the shop at the dealer

Labor? Do that work yourself ...Part of snowmaching Happens several times a year to most of us that ride in the mountains .......very simple repair .

i dont even know how to work on a snowmobile yet. These are the first ones so im just learning how to ride them, more or less fix the things

Id helpyou out but ......I live in Alaska ........maybe someone will read this that lives closer and will show you how . ;)! ..I just hate to see someone shell out bucks for Labor for something so easy.......But your dealer will appreciate it.

For anyone needing that headlight trim piece, try www.andrettipowersports.com I bought a carbon fiber look piece (usually sells for more than dealer part) for FAR less than dealer price. I think it was around $52 there, instead of almost $100 at the dealer, or over $100 for the carbon fiber part through the dealer.

And don't feel bad...when I endo'd my sled at over 90, I completey destroyed everything on the hood except the windshield itself, and the speedometer assembly. I had to repair the headlight pod, and replace everything else on the dash. I even had to find a good used hood. I still haven't replaced the bent A arms, and I need a front bumper. When I did mine, the sled was only a little over a month old...talk about crying. And the only used part I could find was the hood, in black though, instead of blue. Oh well, it was only $250, instead of the almost $600 the dealer wanted for the hood and just the basic graphics. I added up around $1500 total for parts if I bought them new. Between repairing some, using a used hood, and buying some new parts (all the dash stuff), I kept it around $350-400.

Because I didn't know you had any...and I don't think you did at the beginning of last season. But I'll remember you in case I do something dumb again.

sorry- I have had them for a few years now, RX1, viper, mm, sx, polaris gen 2, cat. Always in stock, or 1 day away.

sorry to hear about your mishap, but be thankful the dealer had the parts in stock. My son rolled my 03 RX-1 in Jan 03 (<1000 miles on it) in a similar situation & it was out of commission for the rest of the season due to lack of replacement parts for the dash shroud.
good luck
