Well apparently that's my bad. I only breezed through the Canadian model phamplet, didn't see anything but fuelie motors and made a jump. Sucks that Yamaha apparently has some carbs left in stock......
I've always used stabil in my off season toys and equipment. This is the first year I have had a problem with starting an engine. The jets were plugged on my 2007 RS Venture. So far about $2000 in maintenance on the 4-stroke Yamaha, not impressed.
Runs great now, thanks guys!! Pulled the carbs apart and cleaned everything. Was able to get at the main and pilot jets, but the throttle screws (ones that are supposed to be turned out "2 turns"), I couldn't locate. There were some openings in the vicinity of where those screws should be but there were metal caps over them and looked to be press fit, flush with the carb body?? This is on an '07 Vec. Anyway, cleaning out what I did seemed to cure the poor idle when cold.
