Just picked up an 05 Vector with 1000 miles on it that had sat for 2 years. I changed plugs, oil, cleaned carbs. Started up and fouled plugs. Changed them and idled good then rough after moving choke. Engine had some backfire then quit. Oil began leaking from resevoir, some blowback in the airbox. Oil will pour out if I open the dipstick. Anybody have this happen or any ideas?

It sounds like you didn't drain the engine completly and now you have too much oil in the system. It should only hold 3 liters with oil filter change.

That is a good point Handy. dmaxx - did you drain both the reservoir and the crankcase?

I did drain the oil but when I answered a phone call, my helper put oil in that I didnt know about. Had to drain more out. Does the Vector always make that sucking sound of the oil return after shut off? My RX1 does not make that noise.
Thanks for the replies
