I have a 2007 Attak. RPM's are perfect for harder packed surface but when in deeper snow drop back to 9400-9500 at WOT and will not climb unless on a down grade as the speed picks up. In reading a lot of these posts I cannot seem to locate the answer I need. Should I go with a straight lower angle helix, remove some rivets from my weights or get a shockwave?Since sled works so good everywhere but deeper snow and I a not concerned with hard packed top end what do you guys that have tried some things suggest?

I'd look at the Shockwave. I just saw one yesterday on an Apex Mtn. and that thing was sweet. He was doing some drag runs on flat ground and just pulled out an allen wrench, loosened two screws, turned 5 degrees, tightened it up, and ran. It took him longer to remove and reinstall the side panel than it did to adjust the helix. Does the opposite when he goes back to the mountains. He said it was a direct replacement too, so install was a breeze.

Been der dun dat. If you clutch the sled with the stock primary weights for deep snow then it overrevs on hardpack. Aftermarket weights make this issue of backshift in deep snow a lot better.

What do think of the the shockwave? Can the RPM's get regulated enough with this?
