I was having a problem with my RPM's being too high and being inconsistent. Knowing that the RS-Nytro has a stiffer spring in the primary than the Vector, I swapped it out for a Vector spring. My rpm's dropped but were still inconsistent. At 90 mph on the dream-o-meter, the rpm's would start at 9000 and drop to 8600 after a mile or so. I took the clutches apart to look for problems and found that the weights had a small ridge wore into them about 1/2 inch from the tip. I figured that the rollers were getting hung up on this ridge. To fix, I put each weight in a vise and ran a file over the profile in a arch motion until the ridge was gone. I did my best to keep the pressure on the file consistent and I made the same number of strokes on each weight.

Am I out to lunch thinking the clutches are going to work ok after filing them? I'll be trying them this weekend.

you just changed the shift pattern of the weight. See what happens. You lightened it up but made it more aggressive so it might be a wash.

The original reason I took the clutch apart was to replace the 4.5 gram tip weights with the 3.5 gram stock weights but decided to leave the heavier weights in to compensate for the material that I removed.

Gone sleddin tomorrow! we'll see
