Ok, I asked this one before but obviously it was too early in the season. Has anyone run with a T660Turbo? How do they match up? Im real interested because I am riding with an old friend this weekend who is a lifetime AC guy (like myself up untill I got my new RS Venture)and I hope I made a clearly better choise.

The T is down 10 hp and weighs more. The Vector imo will kill the T in a race. The T is outrageously priced for the tech it has in it. $9400 or something rediculous like that. You made the better choice.

I know all the specs and tech. Im asking for real world examples. Thanks

Oh you asked the question to the right guy. My friend bought a T660 turbo two-up last year. His exhaust pipe burned the side of his cowling and had to be replaced. He overheated his extra belt (too close to the engine) and other stuff. The sled is fairly comfortable and quite punchy especially when compared to the non-turbo arctic-pig. He was telling me it would stay with my Warrior to 70 mph and we put a bet on it. I walked away from him as if he weren't even there. I rode his a$$ all evening due to his lip all day. Take him on and eat him up. No problem. ;)!

My bro-in-law has a new T660 ST. No racing yet but we were on a good rail bed trail. He said it pulls very hard but it tops out at 90 mph on his speedo. He said it didn't bother him as he doesn't care about going fast any more, but I could tell he was somewhat disappointed.

RS Venture vs T660 Cat

Iride with a guy with T660 turbo Touring. When we race on the lake with two people on each machine the
Venture pulls it about three sled at the start then the turbo gains back about one sled length in the middle and they are almost the exactly the same on top speed. My venture is carrying about 75lbs more rider weight. At top speesd his speedo reads 90 the Venture reads 97

I own two two-up 02 non-turbos for 3 years and for 90% of the time they are exactly the machine to have. Start in subzero weather with EFI, and you don't need a choke to play with. Pull hard to 60mph, which is where 90% of trail riding is done anyway. Never had a problem with either one. Comfortable and puts out better than 20mpg during normal use including busting new trails. For the 10% of the time I want to go faster, I use my RX-1, or my polaris switchback.

Rockets they are not, but nice reliable machines that you can always count on starting and running in all temps and altitudes. Dollar for dollar they are the best bargain out there. If you want to go over 60mph, then do get one. It is not a drag sled. I would not sell mine for any price. Who needs a turbo anyway??

I read in snow tech that it was 92 ft lbs at a very low rpm. still over the quoted 80 ft lbs of the RS. but the RS has a 10 hp adantage and no turbo lag.

'05 RS Venture TF vs '05 660 Turbo Touring
Did some racing on a lake this weekend, and the 660 was left behind three or four sleds every time. Also tried starting with some speed (10-15 mph), and the result changed to only 1-2 sleds. Seems like the turbo lag makes the difference...

I was at a dealer (AC&Yam) picking up my sled estimate (damage caused by deer.. $2800 ouch) and they had a demo T660 waiting for a rider. I was able to take it for a quick spin and I must say I was impressed with its ride an quiteness. My Rage sounds like a POS next to this thing but there is no question in my mind I could spank it. :yam:
