My question is if the old style vector and rage and venture sleds windshields also fit the old style nitro? I am assuming they do but it doesnt specifically list the nitro in the yamaha accesory books. Reason for asking is
Because i may need to put a tall windshield on a old style nitro. The rx windshields should work as well correct? Thanks

They will fit but you will hit the windshield with your handle bars on turns. When Yamaha redesigned the Vector into a Nytro in 07 they added a bar riser that moved the bars up & forward. That limited the hieght of the windshield.

The old style Nitro is delta box II chassis where the Vector/Rage/Venture is the Delta Box I chassis. If I am not mistaken, the Venture is still DBI but the Venture GT is the DBII chassis (confirmation on the Venture appreciated).

The old style Nytro is a Delta I chassis. It is a Vector with an Apex Mtn. seat, Lower chain case gearing, handle bar riser and a lower windshield. Thats all the 07 Nytro was.

The nitro i am lookiNg at is a 2006. So an rx1 or
An older vector windshield will work on it then? If
Handlebar height is
An issue hitting a
Taller windshield i can always take off the riser And put a
Vector handlebar mount ob i suppose. I would think higher handlebars would not interfere with a taller windshield. I have a mountain riser on my 06 apex and they dont hit when i put the taller windshield on.

The front and rear suspension is different as well as the clutch calibration.

I used a medium RX windshield on my 06 RS Nytro with a pivot riser bumped forward and the bars didn't hit the windshield, but forget about the handguards. They will hit for sure. Great sled by the way. Get the rear suspension set up and they are a ton of fun on trails.

Ok thanks. It would be the wifes sled so i could take the handguards off and put a tall windy on there and hopefully be ok. My objective is to help keep the wind off her hands.

Two options for warm hands. Yama-heater and forget it or re-wire the stock bars and keep the level low so you don't cook the stator. Tall windy should be fine.

The front suspension on the nytro used Fox Floats and the rear was the same as the 05 Vector with clicker shock added other wise it's the same.

I run the extra tall windy without handgurads, no issues. 07 Nytro

Thats the rs chassis not the fx chassis correct. As for the handwarmers, its mor of a cold air hitting her hands and fingers than it is subpar heated grips. Thanks for the info.

Yes RS...I replaced the warmers with RSI warmers and they work great.
