Hello, I have a 2004 Rx Warrior, a 2005 Rx-1, and a 2005 RS Rage. It seems to me that the 2005's, both the Rx-1 and the Rage, have more foam, raising the seat a little higher than the 2004 Warrior. It's way more comfortable to ride the 05's. I know the Warrior seat was re-covered right before i bought it, but i don't think there was anything changed to the stock foam. I know a lot of people have used an Attack, Apex, Nytro, or Vector seat to modify, but i think just a newer RX/RS seat would be good enough with maybe a 2" riser.
So long story short, will an '05 seat from an RX/RS fit the 0lder Warrior WITHOUT any modifications? Will it just slide on, J bolt on, and plug in? Maybe a stupid question, but i've still got a lot to learn about these sleds as i just entered the 4 stroke game last year.
Any other input about these sleds is also more than welcome. Thanks

P.S. After the absolute blast i had with these sleds last season, I will never buy another 2 stoke unless i start mountain sledding!

I guess i meant to ask, will the stock seat from an '05 fit an '04 WITHOUT modifications?

no problem. bolts right up. i had an 03 rx seat on my 05 rx war for a few years until i put the 13mm swaybar in it.

Okay, you got my curiosity going. Why did you use the older seat? What’s with the sway bar, and I take it the sway bar didn’t come stock?

they came with a 10mm sway bar from the factory and i found it tippy with the taller seat. a company made a 12mm and a 13mm replacement one for the 04 and up sleds. made them handle flatter and i was more comfortable with the tall seat on the sled again. 11 and up came with a 11.75 mm sway bar so on my new sleds i do not need it. you can still get them from travis at barn of parts as he has a few still around as he parts out yamaha 4 stroke sleds.

still learning on the mono shock sleds but i can give you some tips on how to make them ride and handle better on the old proaction style suspension on the war and rage sleds.

Okay, that makes sense. I did most of my trail riding with my ‘05 RX-1 last season, and it seemed to stick to the corners very well. Mostly did ditch riding with my warrior. Seemed to do better in deep snow with the 136”. I would like to take it on the trails more this season. Maybe I will stick with the stock seat until I figure out the sway bar. I did ride the 136” Rage on the trails last year a little and what a smooth ride, at least compared to a 121” pro action. Thanks, I’m sure I will have many more questions for you!!
