RX-1 top speed

Re: speed

at 119.2 on radar the speedo was reading 130 mph with one tooth removed and it was still spining with the stk track with no studs and stk gearing stk air box only mods that i ran were dolton clutching and 137.5 mains and needles rased one shim that blows that 20% slipage out the window :moon:

Yeah well those 9855's are pretty crappy for that sled.

Awesome on Exciter though. Never seen a 600 leave the line like that before. ;)!

I'm not bragging about the Viper, just suprised. I had a '98 SRX 700 and top end it brought around 120. The Viper was a bit slower, but not by much. I found hardpack snow with some dirt showing and you could feel the pull when you hit the dirt. To say the least, it wasn't good for the hyfax. I guess that being the Viper is only a single pipe the machine is lighter than an SRX so I see why it might be just as fast. Whats slowing down my RX on top speed is a good question.

Convert, that guys Viper must be sick. I know my friends' is stock and it tops 120 easily. I was very surprised. He hung right with me. The best I ever saw was 125 and I tried mucho clutching and gears. Just couldn't get anymore out of it.

I had a very well running STOCK viper and it got 119 on the dream meter on a Down hill 3 miles streatch of snow covered road.. After that it never did it again... 113 was about average on a lake..

9855

i did not have any trouble with the 9855 track once i ajusted my clutches to it. my rx 1 all most turned over back wards with this track from a dead at the line at one of the local drag races not once but twice i had to stand up and lean right over the windshield to prevent this even then it would lift 2.5-3 feet. do you know how hard it is to hold an rx 1 up by the handle bars so it does not crush you when you are bucked of and are houlding it over your head wile standing on the ground i nore any on there could beleve there eyes one other owner can over and looked at my track and was suprized to see no studs and comented about thats how a 1000cc pro stock on grass goes up not a stk rx 1 its all in the clutching and not high engament ether just sound clutching from the old ice ovel days ;)! lessons well learned

Buckeye, sorry for the late reply but I was on the road the last couple of days.

I have a stock Viper too. It has only hit 115 mph on the dream meter under perfect conditions. It never ever comes close to staying with the RX-1, no matter who is riding it. Piped Viper is closer, but I have not had a piped Viper out run me on the lake. Shorter distances is a different story.
