Guys
RX-1 Repair merge & mid pipe 006-1.jpg
just had to show you the prototype exhaust that Schmidt Bros Motorsports did for me.
About all the y-pipe after headers will break sooner or later, when talking with Chris we decided to make it correct and easy to fix, can pull muffler without dropping skid.
He will soon have them for sale on his website.
Middle pipe is 2 1/2" oval like apex.

Guys I have been in fistfight with the stock 1 piece muffler and stupid brillo pad gaskets-Its miserable, this should make life a lot more enjoyable.

Oh and by the way no clamps needed.
While it's apart will do slight mod on inside of muffler.

This is great news.
Hope they can keep the price low.

He's hoping to, with a older sled the mufflers rarely go bad, but y pipe brakes at welds on most, gonna have my prototype to put back on this week.

Yup. My 06 apex broke that pipe completely in half and had cracks everywhere in it.
I welded it all back together and it works, but it is really beaten up and needs to be replaced.
i will be keeping an eye on this.
Thanks for the post

SWEET MERCY-what a sweet thing this new pipe install is, don't need 2 guys for anything. Like I said earlier instead of back half with muffler all 1 piece-this is 2-piece as you will see in pic.
Must have better air flow with 1-2 1/2" oval pipe instead of the 2 small pipies because I was 200 rpms higher when warmed up.
Chris did mod with his baffles to muffler while he had it and WOW has great sound. Schmidt bros are gonna make this exhaust in house so just call him or me.
GREAT MOD and lasting fix, I couldn't be happier.

Larry is this first ------anything for those 3 bangers like I said before your going to need a seat belt for 2016

Tom I don't think the 3 bangers will have one, go to his website and ask him, see what he says?
Lot of work tho with jig making.

That looks like a really good fix. You have any idea of what the price will be ? I'll keep that in mind if mine breaks. Will that be longer on a Warrior ?

Warrior is same exhaust fit, I believe.
Waiting for call back on price I think about $140. ?

Ya great fix, super happy with it.

OK, just talked to Chris on phone about install, and he's thinking to get proper material he needs and build a few will take about 30 days & cost should be $159. ?
Again it will be all stainless and no gaskets or clamps to buy or use.

That's not bad at all. Nice to know as old as these sleds are people are still coming up with better ways to fix them.
