Will do a search but was wondering if anyone has had success with fabbing/installing rx-1 under tunnel exhaust? Are you using glasspacks or streetbike mufflers? How do you keep the noise levels down...are you using baffle inserts? Thanks.

I use a 1- 3/4" glass pak. over all dimensions are 3" diameter and 16" long. I designed mine to be replaced yearly as the last one was collapsed on the interior. BIG TIME BACK PRESSURE AND POWER LOSS. Since replacing last month the sled rocks again. AS fo rthe noise, every 2 stroker that I ride with is still louder than the glass pak.

Mine is 2" glass pack 3" diameter 22" length. I couldn't find a 1 3/4". I really like the sound, no re-jetting so far and feels the same or better on the throttle.
I haven't had it out much this year due to other commitments and low snow year so far, but I would agree with Jabber if a baffle used not really that much louder than stock.

We have various methods of under tunnel on 10 tons. I recently tried Rockmeister's version ( Napa glasspack with a harley baffle) on my sled:

with a turn to the side to minimize snow and ice build-up on the rear tunnel and suspension. It turns out being slightly quieter than just the glasspack at high throttle levels, and I've ridden without earplugs for the first time in years. We hit some steep/deep stuff and I saw no difference in power compared to the non baffled tons. It was above freezing (as it ususally is here) so I don't know if it will avoid the ice build-up. Important to keep it tucked way up to avoid the track.
Sorry about the crappy phone photo.

Thanks for the replies guys. One question I have is does the baffle you used (whether its CC or Harley type) go upstream of the glasspack of downstream? Also are the glasspacks you are using straight-thru design or do they have a built-in baffle...thnx.

I bolted the baffle so it is inside the glasspack (like rockmeister did). Both glasspacks we've used flow through. You can look right through them, but they have either holes or baffle ridges down the inside surface of the tube running inside the muffler.

CC insert recommends that the baffle go upstream. Adding the baffle to my 12" glasspack took out the resonance, still a bit loud for my taste though.

I just finished my RX-1 under tunnel exhaust and used a 14" x 1.75" glasspack and a 8"baffle inserted into the muffler from the rear. I added a short tailpipe curved downward, just a bit. I was amazed at how well it sounded and relatively quiet. I haven't finished the seat so I haven't ridden up the mountain, yet. I am really looking forward to that ride. Got the glasspack from Summit Racing and the baffle from Dennis Kirk.

I was hoping to run a 2" inlet/outlet glasspack just because anything smaller seemed like it would be restrictive...anyone try the 2"? Let us know how the performance was with the 1.75"..any pics of the completed job?

I have the 2' inlet/outlet glasspack with a baffle insert. I have about a 100 km on it now. Seems to be working well. Need more seat time to be certain.

I used a 2" glass pack in & out, no baffle. This is the 2nd year on it (1st NA 2nd supercharged) works great.
