My 2004 Warrior keeps flashing 8. I cannot find anything regarding this code. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you. :o|

According to the 2003 RX-1 Service Manual, a flashing code of 8 means there is a short in the fuel sender unit or it's disconnected. Is your fuel gauge working?

That makes alot of sense the previous owner has spliced his heated shield into the fuel gauge. I disconnected it shortly after I owned the sled and I bet that is causing the short and code.

Thank you.

Heated shields should be wired directly to the battery with a fuse on the + wire as close to the power source as possible. Another safe connection point would be to the + Jumper Cable lug, again with a fuse on the + wire. The ground can go to one of the screws in the Delta Frame.

I also wired my heated shield to the jumper cables as it was easier access and a smaller cable to splice into. I thought it was fuse protected but the jumper cables are NOT fused so I added a 3-amp inline fuse to the positive lead as Len Todd mentioned. No problems so far in 2 years of use.

No I completely removed the heated shield wiring all together. I have the BV2S helmet and have no need for a heated shield.
