hey i have an 03 RX1 and it has started to make a clicking noise that is loud enough i can hear it while riding. Sounds like it is coming from the front left side. Any ideas as to what this might be?

Were about is it coming from? (Engine......clutches)

It may be your primary clutch snapping back on deceleration at lower speeds. this is very noticeable when running on a stand. if that is what it is it is normal.

It may be your speedo or jack shaft bearing. Check your belt for a chunk of it missing and check your clutches as been said before.

it maybe the clutch but it clicks constantly not just once. It is more noticeable when I apply the brake.thobkirk said:It may be your primary clutch snapping back on deceleration at lower speeds. this is very noticeable when running on a stand. if that is what it is it is normal.

Does it do it when you are stationary but rev it up a little bit? If not, then its a bearing. Jackshaft, driveshaft, etc... Not impossible its the cam chain tensioner either. Didn't think the 4 cylinders ever had an issue with that, but doesn't mean it can't go bad.

Check the brake rotor and all the bearings. I found that my parking brake caliper (lower one) was rubbing on the outside of the rotor and needed new pads, this could make a noise if the rotor has wear on the edges. I know this is the opposite side but rule things out one by one.

bearings are new. Doesn't make any noise unless the sled is moving. Seems like I can feel it with my left foot. Thanks for all the input. I will check everything out tonight. Now that I think about it the first time I heard it on my last ride was after I used the reverse. Might be something to do with that?YammyRX1 said:Check the brake rotor and all the bearings. The reverse adjustment is very touchy, doesn't take much before it either grinds, doesn't engage or pops out of engagement. Maybe you are just on the hairy edge and some gears are rubbing? Maybe check above the track to see if a heat shield or something got folded in reverse and is rubbing on track? Also check skid for cracks or other damage.

I would look at the track driveshaft bearing.

Have you checked your suspension for cracks worn out parts? Might sound odd but noises can travel. Might be worth a look to rule out

try to change your belt Quick and easy. Had alot of people have flat spots on there belt and didn't want to ride because of a bearing. After I convinced them to change there belt and try it problem solved. A flat spotted belt will be a constant click at slow speeds and you can feel it if its bad enough.

I think this is the same thing that happened to me today, now that i have my whole gearbox apart. Guess i should no better than to take apart and then read on here. One of these times ill learn my lesson.
