I was out for a ride yesterday and I noticed when my sled sits along side of the trail for a 20 minuit break or so, and then start driving it again, at WOT it misses and only hits about 8500rpm. After a few miles of driving, it comes out of it and will pull 10,000 again. I recently installed K&N filters and rejetted the mains to 165, also installed CR10EK plugs. Any advice would be great.

It is heat soaking the carbs. Mine did this as well. At higher temps, I would restrict the coolant line to the carbs to help with this problem. Why it straightens out is that you have gotten the coolant/air moving through it and it cools off to optimal running temps.

I wondered why the RX1's didn't have a by pass valve on the carbs like the old tripples did and still really don't understand why they even need coolent running through the carbs. Would it be ok to block the coolent flow to the carbs? We were running in marginal conditions that day and my temp light came on quite a few times.

I looked into doing this but a laundry line heavy duty hanging pin restricts the flow enough to make it run properly.

But isn't the hot coolant still going to stay in the carbs and transfer heat?

It needs flow to transfer the heat.

Try flipping the cover back off the carbs! The cover traps heat in the carbs! I used to flip it back in warmer temps and forward in the cold, also forward if breaking trail as lots of snow on warm carbs makes ice if you shut it off and the snow has not all melted away.
