no it will not work. i have a 2005 war and my brother has a 2002 viper. we have both up-graded to olins on our sleds. i compared the old rear shocks to each other. the warior one is at least 1" longer than the viper one. the viper and the rx1 both use the same rear shock legnth.

I have a 04 Warrior shock in my 04 RX-1. It fits fine. They are the same length. The only difference is the Warrior shock has a Compression Adjustment.

I know that he has an '05. The reason I made the post was to get him to ask around and get a few answers before he made his decision versus running with the first post. When I replaced my RX-1 shock with the Warrior shock, I was initially told the Warrior shock would not work and a reference to the SRX comparison was also in that discussion. So, ... I called one of the pros and they told me would and would not work. I am glad I did, as the one that was given to me worked. Also, asking around for a few days versus buying one right off the bat, surfaced one at the perfect price. Thank you Yamadog1!
Guess I could have been a bit more direct in my post. I try to maintain a delicate balance. Sometimes, my thoughts get lost in the words. Sorry about that.

You can run an rx1 shock on a warrior as i have for 3 yrs. Bruce at pioneer perf. says that the difference in length is meaningless in use and I agree as I've had no probs.

Can you run a 04' rx1 shock on a 04' warrior?

Yes. I have a '04 Warrior shock on the '04 RX-1. But, ... the RX-1 shock does not have the Compression Adjuster.
