rx1.....what an awsome sled

finally got to take out my 05 rx1(matte black)...................let me say that this thing is incredible.......i wasnt sure for the first 25 miles or so if i like it better then my srx, but after another 50 miles or so i got a feel for it.getting used to letting off the throttle and the engine slowing down the sled was my main issue, but after a while i became more comfy.comparing it to the srx (01) .......................the rx1 is easier to ride...............there's more driving in the srx................the rx1 mono shock is great...................the rx1 is faster then the srx........raced my buddies zr900 and we went back and forth, with me getting the best of him more. every place we went to ,people loved it. at least 6 different people who drive other makes are beleivers after i let them try it. they all couldn't beleive the power it has........................i am very happy that i bought this machine, there truly is nothing else like it

Thanks for the post, starting to Stress a bit from waiting. Had my new 05 RX since July and don't want to polish it any more since I don't want to rub all that Candy Apple Red paint off the hood. I live in CT. No snow here and my hopes for my first ride in Vermont next weekend just washed away the other day. Coming of a 02 Viper with over 9000 miles and was wondering how this sled compares. I traded a SRX in because of the poor ride but miss the power from 80 on. I can wait to try this new sled!!!!!!!

While waiting over the fall I have installed just about every accessory in the book and hope to post pictures of my bags, mirrors and luggage rack since they are all customized.
Tons of great postings here and from what I am reading I am going to Love my first 4 Stroke!!!!!!

Anyone else had their first ride yet?

Your reaction was much like mine. You pour through all the magazines, you read the specs, and get an idea in your mind how the sled will feel and perform. It was all thrown out the window after my first ride, a few corners, bumps and fast sections. I was equally impressed. The torque numbers list out in the 80s, I was thinking last summer, well geeze, my ZR800 had more than that. Maybe it did, but it was in a 1000 rpm window. This thing has a powerband 4-5 times wider, and pulls like a motherchicken right off the bottom. I put heavy hitters on, and the engine braking is much minimalized. Throw the ECP kit on, and you will be amazed at how much snappier it is. I don't know how the sled was compared to 600 class sleds in the past. This sled smokes my REV600X from about 1 foot out of the hole it's gone and pulling away. Next week, I'll be lining up against several rechipped Fusions, 05 REV8s and such. Bring it beatches lol

Oh yeah, should have mentioned I have 250 miles on my 05, from a a couple days in Quebec last week.

I totally agree, this sled is awsome!!
We finally got some snow on Christmas eve and i got to take my
05 RX-1ER out for the first time also. I used to ride a 00 MXZ 600, and man there is NO comparison in the ride quality. As to how fast i have not rode with anyone yet, feels quick but it is so smooth it makes you wonder. I will be riding with some friends this weekend and that will tell me more.

I now have 700 Km's on my 05 RX1ER and it is great! Rides great, runs great, sounds great and huge amounts of power!! The acceleration is awsome!
