Seat Jack Install

I am installing a Apex Seat Jack on my 40th Anniversary 121" Apex. The brackets almost fit after I trim the plastic shroud, but they just won't quite rest flat on the top of the tunnel. The reason for this is they are touching the top side of the end of the bumper. I have this same scenario on both sides. Has anyone else had this? I am about to pull the grinder out and touch it up -so to speak. I am thinking of just taking a bit off the top of the bumper bar end.

Just looking for suggestions from anyone else that has done this. Their instructions are not so clear even though it seemed like a relatively easy install besides this part.

"When I installed mine, I did not cut the rear bumper trim piece as described in the instructions. Instead, I just drilled the holes as required and installed the brackets while forcing the trim piece down. I'm glad I did that as I no longer have the seat-jack, therefore I didn't have to buy a new trim piece.

Thanks for the reply. I did a search and read that post, just missed the very last message. I have that same issue, and it looks like tonight I am grinding the top portion of the bumper end to get the bracket to fit. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a spacer of something I was missing. I am not worried about cutting the plastic. I will either leave the seat with the sled when I sell, or just remove the bracket. I don't think you would notice unless you really looked.
