I think I am probably (and have always been) missing some performance from this sled. 39deg helix, pink spring (I doubt that is stock). Sled is sitting with skid taken out, so I decided to clean the clutches. (and yes, it is actually wound correctly. That much I can do LOL)

See vid and pics...

That is quite loose.

Called Yamaha and they DO NOT sell that smaller bushing. It comes complete with a new sheave...yeah forget it.

Just going to have to make do with a new helix bushing, new buttons and I cleaned and polished the crap out of everything. The new bushing wont be here til next week :o|

Yup they are not sold separately. If you want more tuning and reliability put a apex or vector clutch on it.

Yeah I am going to run it with what I can get, and this summer put the newer style clutch on. I have a line on a couple used ones, just waiting on shipping costs etc. I am really looking forward to this running right.

I have some clues as to what happened. Something, maybe a piece of circlip or who knows, blew apart and got into the clutches. Scratching, grinding away at everything in its path. Previous owner may have noticed the clutches were tight, so instead of tearing apart they put in a softer spring. Now I am left with even more wear and damaged pieces. Frustrating as hell. Ive never seen the shaft bushing worn out like that before. There is a gouge in it, like some piece of metal ripped through it.

Well I just found a used clutch from a Venture 500. $100 and the sled only had 3000km on it.

It will be a summer project though! Hoping the new buttons and helix bushing are enough! Going out on a trip the 16th

TRUST ME, take that junk clutch and throw it away! Put a roller secondary off an apex or mountain max on it. By the way I have one of those stock Phazer clutches with less than 350 miles on it if you really want to put one back on.

NO! haha I have a couple sources for the newer clutch, but I am going to have to run the old one for about 2 weeks. Just hoping it holds up for that long with a new helix bushing and ramps!
