How much turning freeplay does anyone have in there secondary?? In and out mine is normal but turning free play I have about 1 1/4" of play before I meet resistence this is measured at the outside edge of the secondary. I don't know if it's normal or if it is the root of the jerking / skipping problem I am having

Mine does the same. I just assumed it was the play in the chain and sprocket.

this is all normal, that play is agjusted by tightening the chain in the chain case, but you do need play, mine had about the same amount, i cant remember what it is sapposed to be set at but yours should be fine

A lot of the play comes from the reverse gear box.

99 % of the play I am refering to iss in the gearbox, I had the chaincase apart and it is adjusted fine, I just wanted to know if this gearbox play is the same as most other phazers

mine is 2010 rtx has about the same amount of left to right free play as yours. i believe your right it is in the gearbox. if you put your park brake on the freeplay is still there and the chaincase is locked by the brake, so it is the gearbox. mine has 800miles.
