I have a few questions about the effects of the ramp and springs in the secondary and how they effect the rpm and performance. Is a higher number a steeper helix and hat does a steeper angle do, make it harder to shift out. Mine seems like it shifts out too fast. I would just like someone to give me a good explanation on how to get the right helix for my style.
Somebody has got to have some tips. If the helix angle is more straight up and down dors this put more pinch on a belt vs a more flat angle. Help i need to get tuned. Really hard to get rpm up mid range i have messed with weights and springs in primary what helix would help. Like shape of it i want to understand.
A 40* will resist up shift more (quicker backshift) than a 50*. So a 40 will apply more side force on the belt under load than a 50. A driven spring has two factor's, torsional twist and compresion. Both apply side force on the belt to control belt slip and torque sensing.
You generally build a driven clutch to do two thing's, deliver the beck shift you want and control belt slip.
You generally tune shift RPM with primary weight's and primary spring.
So if I am understanding you correctly you want a shallower cam so it will recover RPM quicker when you nail it?
