brought my 1st 4 stroke sled home on sat., a new leftover 05 rage.
So now i get to polish it for 7 months.
got done polishing all the alum. I could get at by sun. afternoon, so I decided to fire it up and spin it on the stand for a while....yea,...I know I probably shouldn't.....

Anyhow...Heres the QUESTION...
Do these sleds have a sluggish throttle response when they are fired up for the 1 st time????
Even after a 5 to 10 minute warm-up the throttle seemed weak til you hit 3to 4k rpms.
Dealer put its 1st fuel in it on sat. so I doubt the carbs are gummed up.

You can not start these sleds up more than a few times without riding them, the plugs will foul. Put a new set of plugs it it and it will be fine. I know when you get a new sled there is a temptation to keep starting it but it will eat the plugs up.

I had my first one last spring polished all summer, had to start it every time someone come over, I fouled the plugs,In the winter you will have no trouble

You guys are great enablers!!!
thatts what I was hoping to hear....had to start it up and revvvv her for another 15 minutes tonight for yammie buds...it actually sounded a little better

I know you want to hear that sled run but try to hold off. This is just my opinion, but you need to break that engine in just like your going to ride it. Let it get good and warm and then beat on it!! Running it for 15 minutes at a time in your garage can't be good for seating your rings. Like I said it's just my opinion!! ;)!
