Took my skid out addressing excessive sag issues and after talking to Frank @ ShockTec I am sending shocks in for a revalve anyway.

Honestly there were some grease nipples I did not even know existed. One of them was still shiny black on the outside, looked like it had never been greased.

Anyone try a softer spring on the front track shock? After removal that thing seems insanely stiff...?

Also where to buy Hygear torsion spacers in Canada? Anyone have an extra set?

Thanks

Oh and just wondering, is it OK to zip tie the shocks compressed? (smaller package to ship)

Skip the spacers you dont need them.Sag is good with good shocks. Yes you can ziptie the shocks Just make sure they dont break use big ones or shock will be hanging out of box after the shipper handles it. While skid is out take it apart and clean and grease everything. I bet your sag will be almost gone when done till you sit on it.

Already did the cleaning and greasing. Need a pair of bushings for the front arm, and yes it needed quite a bit of grease.

Wont worry about the spacers then, we will see how the rebuild/revalve goes from ShockTec.

Any recommendations as to center spring settings? I do not fully understand its impact on how the suspension works.

thanks

Hygear spacers and x-Click cams turned my wife's Phazer into a Pogo stick. ZERO sag and beautiful FULL return!!

Where did you get the x-clicks? My spring adjusters are somewhat damaged anyway from a stray branch that hit them

I got one set off the classifieds on the forum here and the other set from ebay. SLP carries them and so does Hiperf.com and sledpro.ca

It has an extra lobe, so there is 4 sides to them vs.3 ;)!

shocks should be arriving at ShockTec today! Man the waiting sucks....

while skid is out I got some new bushings, and am doing the slides. Yami dealer was SOLD OUT of slides in ALL sizes for Phazer... and NOT getting any more in this season!??

OK, sent me to a Rec Supply store down the road, they had only 1 pair left that would fit a Phazer (in white actually, nice). The guys said the company their source their sliders from burnt to the ground!

Strange indeed!

Got the shocks back from Shock-Tech yesterday

Took another look over skid and found this :o|

One of the rear suspension shafts. Damnit I think the next sled I buy will be brand new!!! So many little idiotic things broken on this sled, mostly lack of maintenance and mechanical know how. I highly recommend if anyone has skid out pull that shaft out, clean and check it.

(it wasnt dry, just cleaned for the photo LOL)
