I've looked through a bunch of threads and can't seem to find this.
Looking to set my ride hieght on xtx.
My sled '13 xtx
Both rear shocks rebuilt/ revalve to my weight. (255lbs-- no gear on)
Star Suspension linkage kit.
Rear skid front shock spring( to my wieght)
1-- do you start with rear Suspension at full hieght? ( grab bumper lift up till it stops)
Then sit on it and see how far it goes down?
From what I read the Suspension is supposed to go down 1"-1 1/4" for proper ride hieght.
Mine started at 24" back bumper
Blocks on H
I sat on mine ( with no suit or gear on)
And it dropped down to 21.
Now do I have to install heavier torsion springs to get it into the 1"--1 1/4" specs they are asking for?
Thanks guys

Not particular to the xtx but most sleds people set up with a couple inches of sag so the suspension can drop into holes a little bit instead of skipping off one bump and slamming into the face of the next mogul. If u get ahold of star, or whoever revalved ur shocks for u they can give u specs for a real good starting point to set the springs at

I have the front skid shock set up with about an inch of threads showing below the nuts. As Star. Said it's good starting point because I have heavier spring on it.
But to me the shocks don't have much to do with ride. It's like a car the shocks don't hold car up. The coil springs do. Shocks just smooth ride out. That's how I see it. Unless a sled is different that way.
To me when I sit on xtx and it goes down 3-4 inches and settles with me on it. I've just lost that 3-4 inches of travel I could have used.

I do get what your saying though. If you lose that 3-4 inches you kinda gain it up on the trail with hit bumps and holes. The Suspension will drop that 3-4 inches( in bump or hole) you thought you lost. Am I right in saying that?

Your sag should be @ 1/3 of your suspension travel when you sit on it. a quick way to do it is measure the distance from your rear bump stop to the rail when unloaded. then when you sit on it, it should sag 1/3 of that distance.
