Has anoyone set their skid back? I want to set mine back so that I can stretch my attak to 144. Has anyone done this and did you have any issues?

I set a 144" to a 151" and it works fine.It will make you heavier on the skis.I'm boosted so I can't tell.
You would be better off extending it...
Weight transfer will be lost...
You need to watch out for the track catching the skid leading tip...

Lower approach angle == WAY better traction in snow, better top speed, less ratcheting, etc.
With a 4" setback from 136 to 144, there is no need to worry about stabbing the track with the rails. In fact, it is LESS likely to stab since the rails will curl up and away from the track as a result of the lower approach angle.

Does anyone know the exact position for the mounting bolts on the skid?

And for the rear mounting bolts do I need a bracket to drop those wheels?

The exact mounting position is to move everything exactly 4" back from their current positions, parallel with the top of the tunnel.

I dont undersstand how a 136 skid set back can be a 144? am I missing something. if you have a 136 set back 4 inches is that not only 140 inches? I dont know how the 144 track fits?

the length of the actual track is 144 inches. by moving the skid back 4 inches from 136 your technically adding 8 inches to the track because it is the circumfrence of the track that gives the measurement

This is the one I did over summer and I love it. You also need to move the mounts down 3/4".

I thought I read one of your posts that advise against this...it may jam the suspension due to the geometry being thrown off. I know you were talking about a 121" and said that the Attack skid would not have the same problem but unfortunately I am not smart enough to follow the rational .
I installed my zx2 as a 121" to get the rest of the wear out of the stock track. I had bought the 136" extension kit and had always planned to stretch it. Now I'm wishing I could stretch to 144" with tipped up rails. But perhaps setting the 136" back 4" to accomodate a 144" track is more practicle? I'm gussing it will make the sled steer heavier (not good) than using tipped up rails and put more weight on the skis but it will climb up onto the snow faster. I'd love to figure out a way to tip up the extension and go 151" long but it sounds like expensive R&D. Sounds like my pilot skis will need to go be replaced too.
