I am looking at trying a set of ohlin's off a 2008 apex LTX GT with the remote resevoir and adjustable compression clicker versus my original fox floats instead of spending money to upgrade and re-valve them to be more progressive. Think I would be better off going to the ohlin's and selling the floats. It would be cheaper than rebuilding and adding adjustable air canisters to the floats from what I can tell... I am a little concerned they won't corner as well but should be a smoother ride but have no idea... Any opinions are appreciated on which way I should go and why.

I can't comment son how floats ride, but I did score a set of new in the box Ohlins rezzie shocks last season, to replace my stock GYTR rezzie shocks. The ohlins are nop notch. Hands down a signifcant ride improvement over the GYTRs. Much more ability to soak up bombed out trails. I was able to sell my take-offs for 270 and buy the Ohlins for $600 shipped. If you can work a deal like that get all over it!

Interesting. I love my GYTR's, but then again I've never tried the Ohlins.
I had my shox all rebuilt again this year by a different shock tech and I am hoping to see an improvement with the rear mono but the builder also said I would fall in love again with my GYTR's?

Ive tried both. I am more of a fan of the Floats than the Ohlins. To me they are not quite as harsh as a coil over shock, however the Ohlins are nice. Really cant go wrong with either. If you really want a nice pair of shocks, check out Elkas. Pricey but incredible shocks. http://www.elkasuspension.com/products/ ... ow-stage5/
