Im a little tired of two strokes and their relaibility and wouldnt even look at one with 5000 miles but some say an apex withh 5000 miles is nothing for that machine.
Is their a big difference from a 2006 to a 2007 ? Did they resolve the driveshaft bearing problem in 2007 ? Anything to look out for ?
I could get a base 2006 non GT model with 3000 miles for around the same price or the 2007 Gt apex with 5000 miles. Any Thoughts ? Thanks..

5000 miles is nothing if its been taken care of. I plan on running mine to about 12,000-15,000. Motor wise, it will need nothing. There are other things to look at...exhaust donuts, front bushings etc that may need replacing but all sleds need maintenance. This site will give you all the info you need and I'm sure others will chime in.
If the price is right, go for it!!

Just bought an 06 with 6,000 miles on it. Didnt think twice about the miles. Sled runs great. Just needs the normal wear items checked over. bearings, bushings, etc. Eric

check the drive berrings and replace them because im sure they are shot if they were never changed, other than that do the stuff the other guys said, just remember first big "service" isnt until a 12,000 mile valve check!
Drive bearings, possible axle breaking problem in a few thousand rounds, idler issues, rear Mono/track wear issues, front end bushings WILL BE SHOT, if not replaced already, check steering for sloppiness, shock rebuild(rear mono revalve if yer a heavy guy) will be needed. Look for wire chafing also.

I am not sure, but I actually believe the first valve check isnt till over 20,000 miles.

5000 miles on Yam 4s is not a concern & you have to alter thinking from 2s engine experince. I would not touch a 2s with 5000 miles but 5000 miles 4s is nothing engine wise. Buddy bought 06 Rage with 5000 miles now at 7000 miles & only installed donuts, hyfax & carbides. My experience with Yam is 120 & 150Hp don't know about Phasers & Nytro engines. If apex is well maintained oil & filter changes & typical sled maint is visable then consider buying.

What is all this about drive bearings? 7500 km which is 4600 + miles & just replaced my slides this year (& switched to an ice ripper xt because I wanted to definitely didn't need to). Besides normal wear & tear lick bearings in the bogey wheels I have had to do nothing but regular maintenance to my 07 attak. As stated above normal wear & tear but I know I have no plans of replacing my sled for a few more years (or at least until somethimg comes out that I think is REALLY superior to my 07 attak which I have not yet seen).

Thanks guys ! Boy the deals seem to be their ! Im going to see a 2006 apex non gt with 2000 miles later in the week verbal offer of $4800 !
Also their is another one for about the same but its a 5 hour drive !
Doesnt look like the market is all that good right now to be selling !

As long as the sled is in good shape and has been services properly, the amount of miles on these four strokes won't really matter IMO.
