How come a lot of you guys on here are buying SIMMONS skis ? Is it for ski lift ? or darting ? What is it they do for the RX-1 thats so good?? thanks...

The simmons skis will help the front end hang in the corners better I have ski-doo precicion skis on my warrior and it is awsum in the cornersNEED SNOW said:

Ski lift will not be affected by your choice of skis, just in the settings of the back suspension and how you hold the throttle. Front end FLOTATION is one of the major reasons to get the Simmons skis - thats the reason I got mine. Those tiny little skis that the sled comes with are dangerous when you drive on anything that you can sink into unevenly - like CRUST.
The skidoo skis are a crappy and illegal imitation of Simmons skis that lack the flotation and have a tendency to fill up with snow and push in corners.

Lets not forget that the simmons will also push in the corners. Simmons are better than the stockers in most conditions. Get C&A's to eliminate the push.

Combine these skis with Bergstrom Skegs triple points and your cornerning will amaze you. They even turn on concrete and asphault. Really helps when getting gas or loading.

I got Simmons. All the darting is gone. Flotation is better. They don't tend to grab as well in a semi hardpack situation. With my mountain suspension, every time I wick the throttle, I go straight ahead no matter what so I can't comment on push, that's all I got is push.....

If you want good flotation and also eliminate pushing in corners, try the SLP PowderPros, I'm using them with 8" Bergstrom carbides.
Only downside is that they are substantially wider than the stockers and overlap the centerline on my trailer. Also there is a gate on a local trail that is a real squeeze...

Simmons effectively widen your ski stance by about 5 inches makes handling the twistys and sidehilling much easier seem's to eliminate the tippy feeling more than anything else i tried.

Simmons will also remove alot of the stutter bumps, they just flex that much. If I dont put simmons on my new warrior, I'm going with the new 05 Yamaha Mountain ski. No saddles, much wider for good floating, aggressive keel for hard cormering.....BUT, there still going to dart from time to time. Its a tough call. ===SRXSRULE===

They corner great. When you turn the bars they do feel like they understeer for a split second then they rail the corner.
I like to ride the thick virgin snow on the lakes. The floatation is so fantastic with the simmons that my butt dyno says they are several MPH faster in those conditions.
Like convert says, in any kind of thick snow, the tippy feeling is gone above 20 MPH

Flotation and they look nice in the multi colors available. I really like the looks of my Yellow over Black. I think it compliments the other Yellow accents on my sled, especially the Flames

If you have any push in the corners all you need to do is adjust your control rods slightly. You'll find they only do this in slushy or poor snow conditions. Other than that I will NEVER ride another sled without them....period!!
