Any pointers on droppign my singleshot skid in my 17 xtx? I would like to take my tunnel protectors out for some beefing. I was hoping to maybe just drop the rear far enough, but dont know if that will be enough. Thanks
I too was about to post this exact same question; good thing I used the Search tool first.
With my 08 LTX, I always found that if I ratchet strap the suspension while it's still bolted to the sled that when removing it, it didn't allow the shock to extend and made installation easier. A lot of times it's just myself so anything to make the job easier. Since this is my first rodeo with removing the Singleshot XT-X skid, I also wanted to see if there were any tips or pointers others could share before tearing into it. Along with adding tunnel protectors like mikextx, I also am swapping out tracks so a complete removal of the skid is in order for me.
I've taken mine in and out a few times. I found it was quite easy to install when you let all of the air out of the shock. bolt up the front arm first and them the back . With out air it, there is little tension to get the rear to line up. I find it easier than a mono skid .
