Thinking of changing skis next year. Currently run pilots, but they have no floatation. On HCS Vermont there is a thread about the SLP SLT skis. I was thinking Simmons. Any input from anybody? I don't plan on using the stock skis or ski trackers as of now.
Sled is 06 ER with float 2's on the front. The rest is stock.

We have run Simmons on 7 different 4 stroke Yamaha sleds amassing over 65,000 miles . These skis will give the sled a more planted feel . Some people say that the Simmons is harder to turn but we have not found that to be a problem

They say the SLP ski lightens the turning force? I have heard nothing but good about the simmons. What generation do you have?

I too am trying to decide on skis for my 2007 Attak GT. First off I need to decide what track I want to use. Do I stud the factory Ripsaw, do I switch to a Cobra or do I try a Ripsaw II which is supposed to be a mixture of a Ripsaw,Cobra and Predator?

A friend has a std. Attak with a Cobra and SLP PP skis. That track really hooks up on decent snow pack and performs very well in sugar type lake effect snow. The trouble lies in cornering if you ride aggressive like I do. From my reading it sounds like the new Ripsaw II allows a bit of slide in the corners taking away from the dreaded inside ski lift. I would like to hear some feedback of someone that installed one on an Attak/LTX style Apex. Or how they perform in powder.

As for skis, the Tuner sounds like a very good option unless you want some powder flotation too. When I think of skis that are good in all areas I tend to think of Curves or the SLP Powder Pros.

We have 4 07 attaks in the family and 2 are Gt. I have over 15,000 riding miles between the 2 07 Attak GTs and these still rock. I kept the stock track and studded down the middle and installed Simmons gen 2 skis with 6 inch carbides on the inside and 4 inch carbides on the outside. Awesome set up

Yes, I forgot to mention the Simmons ski, that was the other model I have read good reports on. It might come down to what kind of deals I can find. I had Slydogs on my list but did ride a 144 Apex last week that had them and it darted like crazy and pushed in the corners. Now I know his carbides were good but there is also the possibility that he needed to do some shimming. I can't say I ever saw his machine sitting thawed out on a dry concrete floor to see how the skis are making ground contact.

Really happy with SLP PP on my '11 XTX, excellent in loose snow, day and night compared to stock. Also works good on the trails, probably thanks to the EPS, I'm not experiencing a lot of darting. The skis from apex mountain is also really good.
