Well, I won the ebay auction for the M7 162 skid, it's from the LE, with the Ti springs and Fox shocks, $400, I thought was a pretty good deal. I was looking at a 162 track, it was only $225, but got bid up in the last couple mintues, I missed it. Not too heartbroken, I don't need to spend more right now anyway.
As far as Apex vs. RX-1...I'd like the Apex for the factory rider forward and EFI, even so I figure the M7 skid will be a nice improvement. It depends on what kind of deal I can fall into... With a little luck, someone locally will be getting out of the sport and I can pick up one cheap, otherwise I'm sure I can be happy with a RX.

Aaron, I sent you a PM about the rails, I'd like to take you up on your generous offer. This will make a nice upgrade with the 151 track. I'll try to trade or sell the 162 rails over on Snowest and pick up some 153s for when I can do a track swap.

Brian, That is a beautiful deal on that skid. Next time you are pricing Cat parts, check out what the rear Ti springs cost separately. Can't remember but think it was more than what you paid for the whole skid. Keep us posted on the install. I'm in the middle of the same process. Waiting on a Hartman extension before I can really proceed with the drop brackets.

I have one last skid question, I'm looking for info on the Holz M7 relocation bracket, and if I need one for this skid. The one I'm getting http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0056111790 claims it fits a '05 or '06 M7. I thought I recall reading that the relocation kit was only needed on the older skids-correct? Reason I'm asking now is I'm entering an orter at Holz for a set of scratchers, I'd add the bracket if I need it.

According to the guys here one the forum and snow. magazines the fix first came on the '07 skid frames. So earlier skids would need the relocation brackets from holz.

Yes Brian you do want them! They make alot of difference in the ride. The '07 model rails are stamped with the height change in them.
