i was wondering if anybody has lined up and raced the new skidoo four stroke with an mcxpress turbo.how did you make out .are they any fast .how would it compare to a nytro with a turbo or an rx1 with a turbo or even an apex with a turbo.i know they are a 3 cylinder four stroke so they are probably closer to a nytro turbo.lets see some answers please and thanks.

MCX is still in production on the Doo turbo kits, guys around here are still waiting for their kits.
Nothing to worry too much about, your can always install a more powerful turbo kit in your Yamaha if you get beat by the Doo LOL :-) I have upped the ante for this winter going front mount, and I'm not been beaten to date hahahaha, bring on the turbo Doo, my cousine (he's the local Doo dealer) has a kit on order for his XP 4stroke, we'll know some day soon this winter how the Doo's are dooing.

we have one in our city and it was finished yesterday .i was told it is running ,they havent driven it yet.so they havent tested it yet.i heard skidoo is having problems with the clutching.this is also a dealer who built this sled .i cant wait to line up with it.i have a front mount powderlites with a 2560 turbo on my 04 rx1 with a 136 track that is 1inch and 3/4.

CJ Motorsports has been shipping their Full Power Performance Stage-1's and a handfull of Stage-2's for that Skidoo 4tek to customers for a few weeks now. I think their Stage-2 is 260HP (with capability to 310HP) and took fastest ET at the Amsow / Dynotech Adirondac Shootout in the mountain motor trail mod class. I got to ride that one and it's no joke.
But yeah, they can make the power if they can get it thru the clutches and belt... so don't be surprised if you see a few Doo'd with Yamaha primaries covertly grafted to them when all said and done. Looks like they are having to combine different model TRA's (other than stock) to get them to live.

so your saying it feels better than a yamaha 4 stroke turbo.i think the mcxpress is only rated at 240 hp.,unless you upgrade to the 19t turbo.this kit is the smaller turbo(16t turbo),the sled has the 137 track on it so it should hook up pretty decent.this is at 12 pounds boost that it is rated at 240 hp.we will have to wait and see i guess.all we need is more snow and less cold weather.lol

The sled itself is lighter and you can feel it when riding it, but also feels like it's gonna break when you step on it as well.
The dynosheet I am reading has the CJ stage-2 kit with a Garrett GT being 220HP at 6 lbs boost on pump gas as the low setting and 260HP at 12# with good fuel on the higher setting. I rode the 260 on their Renegade and couldn't keep the nose down with the 137, the throttle had you looking at the clouds. Not sure i'd want to ride it that way here in the flatlands on the power all day like I can on my 136 Attak.
In anycase, the thing that I noted about the Rotax as being better than a Yamaha was the clean simplicity of the engine compartment and requiring less material / components to turbo...

Well, for one, it's a true front mount. The MCX kit comes with a NFS2 type 4-1 collector header so efficiency should be pretty good. MCX kit also come with a new aluminum plenum chamber to withstand the pressure at 12 lbs. RX-1 with the same rear mount turbo made 240 HP at 10 lbs, as you can see the MCX kit will not have have the same gain when bumping up the boost running the Mitsu 16T compared to the Apex or the RX-1.

I can't wait to finally meet brandX competition, so far Yamaha has won every friendly race on the lakes around here. For the last 3 years we have only been racing setups, the sled with the best setup for the condition on that day won. Finally we're going to racing brand vs brand - bring on the competition :-)

We are currently working on a turbo and supercharger set up for the ski-doo. If you have any more questions feel free to call me 888-649-4609 ext 121, thanks skyler

I think Yamaha’s tolerance levels are much higher then the other 3. Something I’m sure we’ll see in the coming years with performance 4-stroke newcomers.
