Was looking at getting the simmons flex skis for my nytro rtx, and I was told they will affect top end speed. Does anyone know if that is true and if so by how much. I was also looking at getting a longer snow flap.Anyone know where to get them? Thanks for the help! Tim

I SEE 110 MPH ON MY SPEEDO WITH SIMMONS SKIS.

How do you like them, are you glad you chose that ski?
THAT WAS MY 3RD SET OF SKIS THIS YEAR

The short of it is that yes, skis can and do affect top end. Some skis have more drag than others, and skis with dual runners typically have more drag than single runner skis. That being said, most of the time, the trade-offs of having an aftermarket ski are outweighed by the benefits, which is why so many people run them. C&A's and Slydog's are great all-around skis that still maintain low drag. Slydog's have a bit more drag than C&A's, but not much.

If I were to go with C&A's is there a certain kind of carbide you would recommend?

Stud boy shaper bars.
I have them on my RzR's and like them.
Note that these ski's will increase steering effort needed. As the keel is aggressive.
This will especially be true if your using these on somthing with stiff suspension like the RTX with floats.
The darting will increase as well.
But when you turn the bars, the sled turns.
A lot of people are having good luck with the Pilot's. They will not be so hard to turn and the darting will be less, however they may not work quite as good in as many conditions. IE loose snow/powder ontop of the trail etc.

Thats really good to know. I am trying to get rid of the darting. I always feel like Im going to be thrown from the machine on the trails. It looks like the xtx is supposed to be better and if I do trade up I think im going to ditch the stock skis because im definately not having any luck with them.
