Just wondering if anyone here has a stock set of mountain skis or something wider than the stock 5" trail ski they might be willing to sell/trade. I've check in the classifieds but not everyone looks there. I'd like the mounting hardware to if possible.
Thanks
Thanks

Look for a set of Polaris Gripper skis. They're 7" wide, and over 4 lbs lighter than MTX skis, plus they handle a little better. I've seen used and new-takeoff sets go for less than $200.

what do you need to run the grippers?

Interesting,
Nikolai, are there any mods required to make the Gripper ski fit the Yammy spindles?

You have to narrow the spindle bushings and I used the Polaris rubbers, but I'm pretty sure the factory rubbers would work if you narrowed them. They aren't anything special, but if your looking at swapping MTX skis you might as well get the Grippers for the weight loss.

will 6.9 pilots work?

Thanks for posting the pics Nikolai
How would you rate their floatation and side-hilling performance when compared to the MTX ski?
Looks to be another good way to shave some more pounds off of the front end

Flotation should be the same as they're both 7" wide. Sidehilling I think they're a little better. Most of the improvement I noticed was on the trail though.

Nik, are you running a Timbersled front end? For some reasion I thought had the Skins front end. If you have had both, which do you like better?
Sorry about the off topic, just courious.

Those are old pics, I do have the Skinz front end and it was a big improvement over the Timbersled.
