I was contemplating putting my Apex up for sale this week so I did a craigslist search to get a ballpark on an asking price, what a kick in the stomach that was !
I cant believe what people are giving theirs away for right now , I guess i should have tried to sell it in November when they were still worth something . These new sleds coming out (that noone has even seen yet ) are absolutely killing the resale value of our used ones. I was pretty excited to see i can get a 2012 Apex XTX for $9999 so I had a lapse in reality to think I could ask $6k for my 06 with 3000 miles on it , Id be lucky to get $3k for it now.
Anyone else out there have an opinion on this or just want to vent ?

Welcome to Jan-Feb of the year with minimal snow. I saw new Nytro's advertised for $7500 at one dealer! Apex's at or lower than the price you quoted. It's going to drive used values down.
I see no reason why you could not pull at least $4500 for your sled yet. It is what it is though.

We would all love to buy low, and sell high, but usally, that isn,t the way it works. It,s the difference that really matters. If your happy with that, then all is good. Good luck with whichever way you choose.

If you can afford to part with the cash in the off season you can work the deal to your advantage. I picked up the new ride at a deal and then waited to sell the old one during peek selling season.
Last summer & fall (for a net difference of $500.00) I went from an 07 Attak GT (2200 miles) to an 11 SE with 800 miles on it.

You are saving 3,000 to 4,000 on a new Apex & only loosing 1,000 to 1,500 on your used one......I don't see the problem here, I would be celebrating all the way to the bank!!!!!w8tn4snow said:I was contemplating putting my Apex up for sale this week so I did a craigslist search to get a ballpark on an asking price, what a kick in the stomach that was !

Don't for get the tax savings when you trade in ?? For me in Ontario 13% and hassle free . Traded at end of last season my 06 for 11 for $4900 probably would of got $5000 at start of this season add tax saving on $4900 ??

I think I saw that too! I started remembering what I pre-ordered my Phazer FX for in 2006!! AHH! And some dude on Hardcore Sledder is trying to sell his 2010 Nytro with 340 miles for $6900. That was a steal two months ago.

You got a smoking deal on that sled, I was the next caller in line for that sled. Those deals dont happen all the time.

Very smart man right there. That,s the way to do it. Have the cash, and be ready.
