I moved to Lloydminster, Alberta this past summer and have not experienced the winter around here yet. I moved here from Nipawin which had awesome snow and sledding conditions. I heard the snow fall in and around Lloydminster is not that good.
I am just wondering where people who live in this area go sledding? My sled is not set up for the mountains, but I would like to head up near Jasper maybe this winter.

There isnt really any trail system in this area, to the north there is a trail. Good luck sledding in Jasper, lol. You wont be doing that very long, somebody will be chasing you down. Last time you see your sled, its a prov park. You will have to go farther west if want to ride in the mountains.

I have a cabin at Turtle Lake which is right about an hour from LLoyd. I never got to ride there last year however, because of the poor snow fall. I hear there's lots of great trails around there tho, and I sure hope I can get out there this winter. When I drove through to go to Grey Cup, it still looked pretty insignificant for snow.

I lived there for 16 years and right around Lloyd there isn't any good places to ride but if you go north starting around Pardise Hill, Turtleford, the Bronson Forest Range and into Meadow Lake you will find lots of good places to ride with plenty of snow. It might not be the mountains but you will find 2 to 3 ft of snow on a good year.

Thank you! That is what I heard from a few people I work with. Is there any good places on the Alberta side within an hour or so away?2Farnorth said:I lived there for 16 years and right around Lloyd there isn't any good places to ride but if you go north starting around Pardise Hill, Turtleford, the Bronson Forest Range and into Meadow Lake you will find lots of good places to ride with plenty of snow.
