Hi all

This is my first official post!! (I love that little dude) no avitar yet but will soon! Anyway I am a presidential photographer in the Air Force here in Maryland and am retiring to my home state of Minnesota in August. I grew up in Northern Minnesota riding sleds of one sort or another, mostly AC's since 1979. I just purchased an 07 Attak GT. I have to go pick it up this week, my first Yamaha!!.
I would like to say that this site has got me hooked!! I have been on it pretty much non stop since last week. I have not had to ask any questions so far because the search tool on this site is pretty good and I found the answers to all of my questions and a lot more already! There are some really knowlageable folks on this forum, I saw that right away.

While researching ways of getting unstuck ( I'm 40 and not getting any younger!!) I came across the High lift Jack, not sure if I will need that, but maybe, I did just buy the Snobungie though. While looking up things pertaining to getting unstuck, I came across http://www.sledjack.com/ I didn't find anything about it so I was wondering if any one else might have seen this product before. It looks like a great idea. Just wanted to see what you all thought about this product before I threw down the $175.00 it costs.

Thanks in advance for your advice and thanks for having such a great site!!

Welcome to the site from a fellow Marylander. I am a little skeptical as to how much help that sledjack would be when you are stuck, unless you place a board or log or you riding buddies leg under it. Usually when I am stuck I've just run out of momentum trenching thru some deep snow so when you put that bar down I suspect it won't be long enough to reach anything solid.

STUCK ATTAK

Not sure about that much money for something IMO won't help
you get unstuck.I had my attak stuck needed three people to
help me out.IMO a good folding shovel would help.welcome to the site.

check out the apex mtn forum there is a post about them over there.
Srxsrule has one they work awesome.

Great for trips so you can lift up for the night. If the search doesn't answer your questions don't be afraid to post, lots of great people and minds on this site and the best part, they all seem to get along.

Sorry I can't give you any first hand advice. I've talked to a few guys with them and they say they work well and are a quality product. I plan to buy one for my sled so my older daughter can ride on the back (my youngest daughter rides in front of me right now and my older daughter rides on the Venture with my wife). The only thing they are missing is heated grips. I looked at adding some, but so far haven't found a cost effective solution. My children really like the heated grips on our Venture touring sled.

The only thing hold me back was the price. Where can you get one for $175? Prices around here are more like $499 Cdn. For $175 US I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Rex I think they are referring to a tool used to jack up the back of the sled when stuck or for morning start up. If it is a "seatjack" then I too would like to know where I could get one for $175. lol

Yeah I knew it wouldn't help me get unstuck, but I thought it would be nice to have on so you can run you track without someone holding up the rear for ya, or to keep your sled from being glued to the ground overnight if it's wet. A quick and easy way to keep the rear off the ground when storing it too, so they say.

40 and you're RETIRING? I want your job!! Any other pictures of Bill and Monica you want to share? LOL! Welcome to the site!!!
I've only been on this asignment here since Sept of 04, before that I was at Grand Forks AFB in North Dakota just across the border from Minnesota. The base was only three hours from my home town, so we got in a lot of snowmobiling. :-o I have never photographed the Clinton's or Monica, but I would have!! could have made some huge money with those pics!! LOL. No just our current prez and any other foreign dignitaries that visit, to include Canada's PM once last summer. I'm retiring at 40 but will be running my own photography business to survive ( I do already). The only thing retirement will get me really is medical, which you think about a lot more the older you get. Otherwise the retirement money I get won't support the lifestyle we live, so I will still need to work. My wife is a teacher and I keep teasing her that she will become my sugar momma ;)!

Actionjack thanks for the link to that thread, I will check it out. Thanks for the warm welcome all :rocks:
