well I finally busted something on the Phazer. A bolt fell out of the inner wheel assembly on the torque arm. This in turn broke the slide rail on the other side. Now I need two slide rails. Does anyone know how much these cost in Canada? Any recyclers in Ontario that might have these rails? Any input would be welcome. Snows a comin' :4STroke:

MSRP $169 CAN each. Hmmm, for some reason on Port Yamaha's site they are $203 US each. That would be weird for us up here. You may have to make sure with your dealer.

You'd probably better off getting an entire used skid for just a little bit more. I think I saw a couple of skids in the classifieds section here.

x2 on looking for a new skid. I sold the skid from my 07 for $175 this spring. The bonus is if you ever break anything else, you have another skid for spare parts.

You could also have it repaired and then make up some reinforcements for that spot.If its the one I am thinking of also check the shaft for straightness and consider adding good bushings to the pivot.Repairing the right way will make it stronger than stock.

well the bolt came out of the right side and elongated the hole. when the axle shaft slipped sideways the slide rail on the left cracked and broke all the way around the bolt. now that the skidframe is out I can see the damage. bottom line is that iI need two rails. used to be I checked everything myself, but left it up to a dealer last year. sucks to be me. :o|

Those bolts come loose FROM the shaft bending.See once the head of bolt digs into the aluminum of the rails it displaces metal and no longer has contact so it falls out. Please look at the pics and read the post.If shaft is bent you will have more trouble down the road even if rails are replaced and bolts tightened and Loctited.

Thanks. You wont regret it.Better to know now than later when you want to ride.
