I'm looking to add a set of slidekicks ice scratchers to my 2012 Yamaha Vector LTX-where should I mount these on the rail? By adding holes, will this we aken the rails?
Thanks

My wife has has a set on her rage and now her 1200 renegade. She has put over 4000 miles on her sleds with them on with no problems. We mounted them as far forward on the rails as possible to spray snow into the suspension and yet allow them to be tucked in when not in use.

Just make sure that when then cable flings back toward the skid it won't get trapped in a wheel. Wheels can get damaged and maybe worse depending on the set up.

After riding one day with mine I noticed a wear mark on the rail after one day of not using them. I added an "open-up" eye bolt to hook them into to stop them from wearing into the rail when they weren't needed. You may want to keep an eye out for that.

Can you see in my sig how I've got them mounted? Mines an 07 Attak GT, but same skid as OP.
Ya, they chewed about 1/4 of an inch into my rails so I took them off...

I fashioned some simple brackets and bolted mine to the skis. I also welded a tab onto the mounting base of each cable and use a second bolt for mounting. This guarantee's they stay tight and no chance of rotating. If anyone would like pics, I can upload some tonight.
