Soldier'spapa said:Dan,
How many holes did you drill/hyfax and what diameter??
well,i probably should have done alot more,as i used to do..
I did a 2-1-2-1 pattern....approx leaving 3/4 inch between holes as you go down the slider.....I drilled them from BACKSIDE of slide using the edges as a guide.
you can do whatever you like, probably the more the better, just keep them 3/4 or so apart from eachother.....
I went with about 3/16 hole size...some guys use 1/4 but i felt it was abit big.

Around here, we see a lot of dirt from time to time. There are thoughts that in poor riding condition the holes catch dirt, and then you are "sanding" your clips. I used to drill the holes in the hyfax. But, I stopped. I got tired of changing clips every other year.

We ride in canada, very little dirt...and this is another reason you would want to use a big enough size hole,so it wouldnt pack in sand ect...the idea is to pack in snow which turns to ice as it hits the heated plastic.....lost of theorys here, but i know most speed freaks and radar guys have been doing this for yrs....never heard of clips needing replacement...you must ride some real dirty snow!.
yes there are many pics in this thread....i believe first page......
As i said they are in a 2-1-2-1 pattern...drilled from behind....and leaving approx 3/4 - 1 inch between the sets.
if you cannot see them in the pics,i would describe it as the first 3 pins in "ten pin bowling"
the front or head pin would be the 1,then the 2nd two pins would be the 2.....
so 1-2-1-2-1-2 ect ect...all the way down....
try to click on pics,as it makes them abit larger.
