Slow crank question

I bought a new battery (Yuasa) at the start of this season. Dealer fully charged; trust dealer as reliable. Stock machine, 3000 miles, original plugs/Yamalube 0-30 oil. Sometimes, seems to crank 'slow.' Usually takes three crank revolutions to start, and I swear, at the end of the 3, starts turning slower.
It ALWAYS starts, has never not started.
But it just makes me slightly nervous when out in the middle of nowhere, it seems to crank slower than it should before it finally catches. I can't remember when new, if it spun over quicker, so I'm interested in opinions.
The weird thing is, it seems to spin quicker when cold. Does the compression bypass not work fully when warm, typically, so it just seems to crank slower?
I put a Sears Diehard low-amp charger on it, and it kicks out of 'maintain' mode after only 30 seconds into 'fully charged' mode (green LED) seeming to indicate the battery has full voltage.
