I have a used set of Slp Slt skis that I wanted to try out on my my 2010 RTX SE. I was just wondering if these would work with the stock ski rubber blocks. They were previously on an Attak and have Yamaha mounts.

As long as the stock spindle rubber fits in the ski and has a similar flat section it should be O.K. to try. You would want to left the sled up and make sure the ski rests at a level or slightly tipped back position. For test purposes and thin material could be used to space the stock rubber block to fit correctly. Don't forget the spacers or you could have the spindle flopping side to side.

Apex...keep us posted on your success with the SLT's on your Nytro. I had a set of these on my 07 Phazer and they worked very well. I found that the inverted keel blade really took care of alot of the 'hunting' Yamaha's are so well know for.

Is your bottom rubber like mine?
This is the way SLP says they should be.
SLT is the best ski for trail riding with Nytro, PP is better after 15cm soft snow.

Are they the stock rubbers from your stock skis? How many miles do you have on those skis and how do you like them?

Those are SLP´s rubbers.
1000 Miles with SLT´s they are awesome. Better than Slydog, C&A or Pilots.
Original skis are worst in the business and can´t understand how they have been 10 years with Yamahas.
Some Enduro racers use Powder Pros but side keels "shaven" off and carbide cut after last bolt for easier turn. Also for longer than 121" track sleds people use PP´s.

I have PP's on my XTX. Took me a little while to get used to them but by the end of last year I had my sled setup to handle well. Definately like the PP's. I used the stock nytro rubber and machined some custom mounts to better encapsulate it.

Last I knew SLP didn't offer anything for mounting to the Nytro becuase they didn't like how the sled handled, but maybe that has changed in the year since I spoke with them?

I was actually looking at the website yesterday and they don't seem to have any mounting options for the Phazer or Nytro. Bummer!

I would be interested in seeing how you mounted the powder pro skis.

I have a set that I had mounted on an Attak. They bolted right on the Nytro, I'm just not sure if the stock ski rubber will work seems a little soft. I called SLP and they said that they don't have an application because it would raise the sled up 3 inches because the mounts are on top of the ski. This makes no sense to me because I have a set of Razors on my other RTX and they are the the same distance give or take a half inch from the center of the ski mount bolt to the bottom of the carbide. I don't have any snow but I'm going to try them soon, just not sure about the ski rubbers.

Santa is dropping off some Powder Pros to me soon for my Nytro. SLP still

don't offer a mount for the Nytro yet but I ordered the 35-368. These will

work but I know some have shimmed the rubbers and others haven't. I will

look to see what has to be done when they land. I will post info of the install.

As soon as I get a chance, I will show some pics of what I did.

It is hard to see once the saddle is mounted into the ski with the rubber and spindle. Sort of covers thing up, but you'll get the idea.

Originally I installed with the mounts that came with the ski and wasn't happy with how much the ski bounced back and forth. Then I took the steel saddles and made some aluminum frames that gave support front and back to the rubber. This worked somewhat better. Ultimately I decided to build some new one. It also helps that I have the resources at hand to do this.

I did initially find that the keel sat lower that the OEM ski's by about 3/4". It was hard to get exact measurements but that's what I came up with.

Believe me, that extra bite made it very hard to steer (I'm not the most muscular guy), hence the reason it took me a season to get where I wanted. Someone more experienced with setup would probably be able to find thier sweet spot quicker.

Have quite a bit going on with Christmas and all but will try to get a few pics next week.

Thanks
